Skin Rejuvenation

Skin rejuvenation refers to all treatments here at Dr Meera that aim to improve and replenish the skin. Skin treatments or ‘boosters’ have a variety of properties that improve hydration, reduce inflammation, and improve overall texture and appearance of the skin.

Mesotherapy uses Hyaluronic Acid to add hydration and a small amount of volume under the skin. This treatment is perfect for those with fine lines on the skin and upper lip ‘smokers lines’ that are not amenable to Botox usually as a result of volume loss.

Please arrive make up free. Dr Meera will sterilise the skin prior to treatment.

Some people choose to use numbing cream prior to their appointment. You can buy EMLA cream at any pharmacy

If you are prone to bruising, ARNICA cream or tablets is also recommended.

Please do not use Retinol/Tretinoin for 3-5 days before or after treatment.

Most skin boosters and rejuvenation techniques use needles or a fine micro-needling pen.

The skin is cleansed and sterilised prior to the treatment.

Small injections are applied to the area being treated. These injections use a very fine needle and so should not be too uncomfortable.

Afterwards, depending on your treatment you will have a further facial cleanse ± massage.

You will notice some redness after most treatments which should resolve within an hour

Aftercare advice will be provided for all client

Aftercare for all treatments is the same: simple cleanse and moisturise at night time. Avoid acids, peels, exfoliants or retinol/tretinoin for 5 days after treatment

Common side effects include redness, bruising and skin sensitivity, all of which should not last longer than 5 days
